iRobot Roomba 694
The iRobot Roomba is a budget-friendly robot vacuum that is effective on both plain flooring and low-pile floor carpet. It has a decent suction and can clean most debris, however it isn't able to handle larger debris like rice or sand. It does a good job cleaning pet hair, but isn't as resistant to tangling as the premium Roomba models like the I6 and j7.
The Roomba 694 is simple to use. This vacuum is slower than others, but it is still able to get into the most crevices and corners. It has a big bin which makes it much easier to empty. It is compatible with digital maps and virtual barriers that let you set it to avoid specific areas or stop cleaning altogether when you want to stop it from getting stuck on something.
While it's not the best model in its price range however, it's superior to many other alternatives. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694 with a much better cleaning efficiency on both bare and low-pile carpets. It also has an efficient cleaning route and has longer battery life. It also feels better-made, has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, costs less to maintain over its life, and charges faster than the 694.
It is also worth considering other models within the iRobot range, like the v7 or 981. The 981 and v7 are more expensive, but offer significant improvement in cleaning efficiency, for both bare and low pile floors. They also have a bigger dirt compartment they charge faster, can move more easily and are easier to pair with smart home devices.
Shark RV1001AE IQ
This budget self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner does a good job on carpets with a low pile and hard floors. The combo brush can reach into corners and edges, and it automatically boosts suction when it senses carpet. It also does an excellent job of cleaning dirt from carpet in the middle. The IQ's compact footprint for docks and its self-emptying feature are nice touches. If you wish to alter the floor's levels or define zones that aren't allowed, you'll have to manually reset the map.
The IQ app comes with advanced mapping and automated functions, however it does not have no-go zones. These are only available on iRobot robots. The smart-pathing navigation system provides superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, but it is prone to get caught up on rug tassels. Additionally, its iHome speaker allows you to control the robot with voice commands.
During our tests, we discovered that the IQ was able to handle pet hair effectively. It was able to eliminate a large amount of debris on bare floors and a decent amount on medium-pile rug. It was less effective on shag carpets. It had a hard time reaching dirt and dust embedded within the fibers. It did a good job of maneuvering the legs of chairs and tight spaces as well as the bottom of an wooden IKEA step stool. We did notice it was a bit slower on floors that were not paved however it soon recovered speed and performed better than the other robots we tried.
The IQ is a better option over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a bigger dust bin and lasts longer on a charge, and is more capable of maneuvering itself around obstacles. It also comes with mopping attachments that can handle sticky messes. On the other side the iRobot is built better, has fewer parts that require replacement or maintenance and has lower recurring costs and can even create virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It can even resume a cleaning session from where it left off in case it is unable to recharge its battery prior to having completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled with voice, which can be an advantage for many users.
Eufy 11S
The eufy RoboVac 11S robot vacuum isn't among the most advanced models, but it does offer excellent cleaning power for a low cost. It's a budget-friendly option for buyers who don't need a complicated mapping system or app to control the device. The robot is able to last for over an hour. It includes a remote control, cleaning tool and AC power adapter.
The 11S is slim and sleek and has a tempered-glass upper deck that appears like polished aluminum. It's a nice aesthetic departure from Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more practical and industrial.
In our tests, the eufy 11S was excellent at picking up larger particles and fine dust on hard flooring. It was unable to thoroughly clean high-pile and medium-pile carpets. It is also prone to bump into furniture and people in its path, but it's able to detect obstacles with sensors. If it encounters them it stops and lets out a loud beep so you can manually steer it around the obstacle and then get it back to work.
The BoostIQ mode is a great feature of the Eufy11S. It lets you configure the robot to automatically adjust suction strength based on the floor type and the amount of mess. It's also simple to use the remote to direct the 11S where you'd like it to move.
If you don't have much furniture in the area you want to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy will spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.
Edge Cleaning is another option that reduces the time that is spent on each area to just 20 minutes. This will increase battery life. With this option the eufy can move in a spiral pattern taking care of edges and corners to ensure a clean.

It can pick up fine debris like rice with ease and it doesn't suffer from suction efficiency even as its dirt bin fills. It comes with an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying dustbin, which means you won't need to purchase additional filters or a separate bag for your vacuum.
